This issue of the Newsletter brings you our wishes for an outstanding year as well as an essential information on the AIC 14th Congress Milan 2021: on January 5th the Gruppo del Colore – Associazione Italiana Colore in agreement with the AIC has decided to organize the AIC 14th Congress online.
It will be structured in compliance with the program elements required by the AIC rules:
- Opening Ceremony
- Awards
- AIC General Assembly
- AIC Working Groups Workshops and
- Closing Ceremony.
In addition, all standards required for publications and the handover of the AIC banner to AIC2022 will be respected. The registration fee for the 5 days of the Congress has consequently been reduced.
Since the congress will be held online, our committees have had to reorganize themselves to find the optimal solutions to ensure that the congress offers all participants the organizational level worthy of such an event.
We will keep you updated on upcoming developments and you will find all useful information updated in real time on the congress website.
The Call for papers is open and you are invited to submit your abstracts via EasyChair. Please address one of the 12 topics selected for this event and four special sessions. Deadline abstract submissions is March 31, 2021. |
Sessions
We are announcing two special sessions: ”ALL THE RECENT BOOKS ON COLOUR” and “LIGHT BEYOND COLOURS: THE NC-CIE ITALY”.
The special session on books includes short oral presentations on books on color or related topics, published in the last three years (2019-2021). The authors are required to present their own books in person (online). The book can be in English or any other language.
The second special session is aimed at researchers and expert of lighting, operating in all the divisions of the NC-CIE Italy and in other CIE NCs, to present the most relevant and up-to-date researches and activities carried out within the wider CIE-umbrella. Fruitful discussions about the CIE’s most recent arguments will promote connections among the different divisions and will encourage the proposal of new research strategies.
We are calling for papers and book abstracts that address these two topics (link).
Invited
The third invited speaker of the eight that have already been scheduled is a highly experienced scientist with a vast background in Imaging Technology.
We are thrilled to have Reiner Eschbach among the invited speakers of the 14th AIC Congress in Milan. Currently, he works at Colourlab at the Norwegian
University for Science and Technology (NTNU) in Gjøvik. His lecture, titled “Color Deficient see this way … or don’t they?”, will examine human understanding of color deficiency and show areas that cannot be easily explained within current hypotheses.
A short video by Reiner Eschbach dealing with the color deficiencies starting from the fact the ‘color is not that simple’ is available at the following link.
Patronage
To date, five AIC National Groups, six Italian Associations and one Academic Institution have decided to patronage the 14th AIC Congress.
We are pleased to welcome the international colleagues from Portugal (Associação Portuguesa da Cor) and Spain (Comité del Color) for their decision to join our Congress giving their patronage.
At the same time, we are thankful to the Federchimica Avisa (Avisa), the Società Italiana di Fisica (SIF) and the Società Italiana di Ottica e Fotonica (SIOF) as well as the Politecnico di Milano that gave their generous patronage to the 14th AIC Congress.
