The first month of the new year is over, with new dreams and goals, as well as renewed energy to get things done. Despite the fears of the serious pandemic situation, we are continuing to work hard to organize the AIC 14th Congress Milan 2021. We remind you that the event will be held exclusively online and the registration fee has consequently been reduced. Now let us find out the news of February!
The Call for papers is open and you are invited to submit your abstracts via EasyChair. Please address one of the 12 topics selected for this event and four special sessions. Deadline abstract submissions is March 31, 2021. |
Sessions
We are announcing two special sessions: ”COLOR AND AUTONOMOUS DRIVING” and “COLOUR, LIGHT & SOUND: HOLISTIC APPROACH FOR WELLBEING”.
The first special session will explore the recent developments in color, image processing and computer vision technologies applied to the field of autonomous vehicle applications. So far, industry is facing the lack of agreed standards, currently under development, for providing robust and efficient automotive systems. In order to share discussions and discover new technologies, trends and upcoming standards behind the use of color in autonomous vehicle applications, we are calling for papers addressing this topic.
The COLOUR, LIGHT & SOUND special session explores the non-invasive and supportive ways in which light, colour and sound are used to help restore health and well-being. Medicine, both allopathic and traditional, bio-energetic sources, systems of holistic health, and case studies will be used as illustration.
Papers that address these two topics are welcome.
Invited
The fourth invited speaker of the eight that have already been scheduled is a well-known conservation scientist, spectroscopist as well as art conservator.
We are proud to introduce you Austin Nevin among the invited speakers of the 14th AIC Congress in Milan. Currently, he works at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London as Head of the Department of Conservation.
His lecture, titled “Conservation Science and Changing Colours ‐ Approaches to measuring and managing change”, will bring us new research in the use of imaging and spectroscopic techniques for the visualization and mapping of pigments that will include wall paintings in India, Italy and Sweden.
A short video by Austin Nevin dealing with its coming talk is available at this link.
Patronage
To date, six AIC National Groups, an international and five Italian Associations as well as one Academic Institution have decided to patronage the 14th AIC Congress.
We are pleased to welcome the international colleagues from the International Light Association (ILA), a non-profit association that promotes and shares knowledge about light, colour and sound to advance health and wellbeing, and Procolore, the Color Swiss Association which brings together members that
deal with color effects and perception on a daily basis, particularly in the areas of design, art and architecture, for their decision to join our Congress giving their patronage.
