Sessions
Since the early years of cinema, color has been a powerful means for expressing mood, creating meaning, reflecting social and cultural customs, or setting the aesthetic tone of a film. Oftentimes, color in film is so important as to become a character in and of itself. In this special session, we will explore the multifaceted role that color has played in cinema since its inception, in order to map out new trends and theories on the subject with an interdisciplinary approach.
We welcome submissions from different perspectives and backgrounds, investigating the full spectrum of the relationship between color and cinema.
Invited
It is a huge honor for us to have Luca Missoni as invited speaker at the 14th AIC Congress in Milan. He is the Artistic Director of the Missoni Archive that he has been developing into a communication and research tool to valorize the Brand Heritage. By the end of the 1970s, he began working full time for the family company developing knitwear design, sparking interactions between technical advancements and the creative process. He is also a photographer and a stargazer. For Luca Missoni photography has always been an essential part of his visual research. His talk will be on ‘Color in Fashion Design’ A short video by Luca Missoni dealing with the importance of color in the family company is available at link.
